About This Blog

About Page Cover Welcome! This blog is a practical, hands-on learning path for Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), with a focus on AEM as a Cloud Service (AEMaaCS). It's written by an experienced professional who works with AEM every day.

Why This Blog Exists

The questions I hear most from developers are rarely about syntax. They're about how the pieces fit together and why things break in production. This blog is one place that answers both, with Cloud Service as the starting point and notes on where 6.5 differs.

What You'll Find Here

The content is organized into series, designed to be read in order or used as a reference:

  • AEM Foundations: what AEM is, its architecture, Sling and project structure
  • AEM Core Development: components, HTL, Sling Models, dialogs and content fragments
  • AEM Backend Development: Essentials for OSGi, services, configuration and servlets, and Advanced for jobs, workflows, integrations, security and Cloud-ready code
  • AEM Assets Deep Dive: workflows, Smart Tags, DAM design and Asset Compute
  • AEM Architecture & Operations: Dispatcher, replication, Cloud Service vs 6.5 and performance tuning
  • Advanced AEM & Career: headless GraphQL, Edge Delivery Services, interview preparation and migration lessons

New series and posts are added over time, so check back or subscribe.

Who This Is For

  • Developers new to AEM who want a clear starting point
  • Backend and Java developers who want to understand OSGi, Sling and Cloud Service
  • Experienced 6.x developers moving to Cloud Service
  • Leads and architects preparing for design discussions and interviews
  • Anyone who wants practical explanations over theory

About the Author

I'm an experienced professional who has worked on AEM Sites and AEM Assets across several industries, and I enjoy helping teams build and run AEM well. I write about what I've seen work in practice, and I say so when something is a judgment call.

How I Write

  • Practical first: every post aims to solve a real problem you'd meet on a project
  • Honest about trade-offs: there's rarely one right answer in AEM, so I explain when to choose differently
  • Cloud Service first, with 6.5 noted: where the two differ, the posts say how
  • Kept current: AEM changes quickly, especially on Cloud Service. If something is out of date, tell me and I'll fix it
